Against Routine

Against Routine- Kate Campbell 2014 (Post-it on Window frame)
This fine piece of art by Australian Global Politics analyst and art connoisseur Kate Campbell brings out the strong resistance against routine of mundane, mechanical everyday life in this consumerist society. She brings out the resistance by providing a blank to-do list, over a window frame connoting how narrowly we perceive the world outside. The formal elements complement the concept, with the bright to-do list opposing the bright lighting in the background. The museum is honoured to host the artist.

Can't grasp Reality!

Can't Grasp Reality - Ralston Dsouza 2012 (Perceived reality on Material object)
Socio-political satirist Ralston Dsouza's piece is a branch in his numerous works on the theme 'Difficulties in the perception of the Real'. Moving slightly away from the original masterpiece (For which the museum has requested the artist, and is confident the artist will comply) Ralston uses shadows as a parallel to perceptions and a grotesquely place object to signify the harsh reality. The interplay of the "dullness" of the shadow (perceived reality) against the "colourful" harshness of the real, provides the tension underlying the theme.

Don't BOW down to Stereotyping

Don't BOW down to Stereotyping - Alana Sza 2014 (Artist on Wall)
The museum is proud to own this beautiful piece which is filled with the signature elements of the famous social theorist/artist Alana Sza. Delivering a stunning work of art which lashes out against stereotyping by placing one single element off the theme of the whole art, a signature Sza! This piece is dominated by pink, balloons and other elements normally associated with the feminine. The artist juxtaposes this with a harsh element of an alcoholic beverage, but a pink bow to complement the drink, a masculine strongbow! The immaculate attention to detail can be seen in the straw. A cheerful play of words and light!

Reason for Existence

The curator of this museum keeps getting one question every time a visitor leaves the museum. "What is this about?" This was the answer that was provided.
The Museum of Made-up Art is a project, an art project. This has been started to reduce a common perception among people between the so called "High art" and "Low art". With the commodification of Art, certain forms are now considered "Valuable", as they can be traded and other forms sidelined as criminal activities, vulgar poems or vandalism! Art does not belong to anyone, nor does it have one single form or meaning. It is all around us. An individual's perspective of a mundane object or emotion, which when expressed, triggers a thought process in another individual's brain, can be, according to the curator, Art. This definition, shall be and will be, updated as his experience with the various museum pieces builds. This is the second reason for the museum. A personal exploration of the meaning of ART.
Some may criticize that the curator is critical of the commercialization of Art. Yes, He is. When a commercial value is set to a piece of Art, its general value is lost, as it becomes nothing more than a product! What is so special, if a piece of music is same as a tube of toothpaste? But, in this current world this cannot be changed. We have to accept it, but we need not follow it, we need to voice our dissent. This trend should not deter people from not seeing/ involving in art. This museum tries to show the world that the most common of things, with a twist, and some right literature may be, can trigger thoughts in another;s mind. This is the third reason.
Lastly this project is pure fun. The curator claims this as his primary motive.
All the artists also get a special tag on facebook/twitter are the museum takes personal interest in making them famous
Unlike commercial products, this museum wont be updated daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or annually! The museum depends on the muse available. We are happy to accept contributions. So open your minds to Art, for one there might be an artist in you and two there is already a space waiting for you!
